Year I Joined Church on Purpose: Dec. 9, 2018 at inception

Family: I am a widow. I have 4 adult sons, 3 daughter-in- laws, 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren

My Salvation Story: Raised in a Christian home. Baptized as a child in COGIC, later joined Church of Christ. Did not feel I was being fed spiritually. Because of my late grandson, I united with New Birth Fellowship where I remained until transitioning to Church on Purpose. I am being filled with the Word and teaching and have seen such an increase in my own studying, my faith and prayer time. 

Education: High School/Kilgore H.S., College/B.S. Texas College in Business Edu.

Previous Line of Work: I have always worked in housing industry in some capacity since 1988 thru the present

My Heroes (Besides Jesus): my parents Ivy and Katherine Benson and my late husband Royce Harper

One of My Greatest Experiences with God: After my grandson Terrance Fickett committed suicide, I did not have desire to serve or worship God. I was so brokenhearted and overwhelmed with grief. I even blamed myself because I was not there when he needed me. God kept saying “ I am here”. I thank God I found my way back and know that God gave me the strength to move forward and forgive myself and trust in His will.

Most People Don’t Know This About Me: I was always considered shy and quiet. I have a great sense of humor and quick wit.  

One Thing I Find Fascinating: The strength and courage God has given me to get through so many trials and difficult situations. The peace always seems to come.
